Proposition:  Jesus explains to the Jews the problems with their spiritual life and these problems continue to exist in the lives of many today.

Transition:  As we look at 5 spiritual problems of the religious Jews, let us be certain such problems are not part of our spiritual life.

I.  The Jews DO NOT have God’s Love (v. 42)

            A.  They DO have a love of God

            B.  God’s love is NOT in their heart

            C.  They can NOT fool Christ

II.  The Jews DO NOT receive the Father’s Representative (v. 43)

            A.  The Jews were looking for a Savior

            B.  The Jews were following “Saviors”

            C.  The Jews rejected the Father’s Son

III.  The Jews DO NOT seek God’s Glory (v. 44)

            A.  They seek their own glory

Biblical Greek for Beginners

At the request of a couple of members, I have started teaching a Biblical (Koine) Greek class on Sunday afternoons for those who have an interest in learning to read the Greek of the New Testament.  The class meets at 4 p.m. and everyone is invited.  Our first class covered the alphabet and some of the basics of the language.  Now we will move on to the various parts of speech beginning with the verb.

If you did not attend the first class but would like to jump in and join us, please let me know and I will (1) give you copies of the materials used in our first class and (2) try to find some time to go over this material with you in order to help catch you up.

Again, our purpose is very simple:  to be able to understand the Greek of the New Testament well enough to read it for ourselves in order to better understand God's Word and, as a result, give Him even more praise than we do today.
