Goodbye to the Overton Family

As part of our Christmas Program last night, we said a final goodbye to the Overton family who are moving to southern Indiana this week.  As I said before I prayed for them, they are leaving our church but they are not leaving the Lord!

Kerry has taken a different position within his company and this has necessitated the move.  As much as I hate seeing them leave our church family, I am delighted God, in His infinite wisdom and providence, has opened this door and guided them to this decision.  He has a plan for them and, for now, it involves southern Indiana.

May our Lord graciously bless Kerry, Anne, Isabelle, and Simon as they serve Him in their new mission field!

"Filling the Gaps"

As most of our church family knows, the Overtons are moving to Indiana before the end of 2010.  While we will greatly miss them, they see this move as the work of the Lord and, therefore, we rejoice with them! 

Nevertheless, Kerry and Anne presently fill several positions in our church and we need someone to step in and "fill the gaps" resulting from their departure.  Both teach Sunday School classes, both serve on various committees, Anne maintains our Sunday bulletins and Wednesday prayer sheets, and Kerry is our church treasurer.  We need to have capable folks ready to step in and fill these important positions when the time comes.  In fact, it would be helpful for those volunteers to spend a few weeks working with Kerry and Anne so they can get a handle on what is required in these positions.

If you believe the Lord would have you serve in one or more of these positions:

1.  Please contact our Sunday School Director, Jon Bounds, if you would like to teach a Sunday School class.
2.  Please contact Sandy Brandel or Anne, our Nominating Committee, for the other positions.

If you have any questions on any of these positions, I strongly recommend you talk with Kerry and/or Anne.
